You must not send any item addressed to a country in which the item is unlawful or prohibited. When an item is restricted you must comply with the restriction. Prohibitions and restrictions vary from country to country, and can sometimes apply to items which you may think are ordinary. Prohibited items
Prohibited products are not permitted in the mail under any circumstances.
- Pharmaceutical products containing psychotropic and narcotic substances
- Pursuant to article 19 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Freedom of Conscience and Religious Organisations, the content of all documents of a religious nature arriving in the Republic of Uzbekistan from abroad is subject to examination by experts, in accordance with the established legislative procedure. Religious documents which contravene article 19 of the above-mentioned law will not be delivered to the addressee and will be returned to their point of origin.
- It is prohibited to send the following articles by post to Uzbekistan: press publications, manuscripts, printing plates, drawings, film, negatives, audio and video recordings and disks which undermine the State, social order, territorial integrity, political independence and the foundations of the State, inciting war, terrorism, violence, nationalism, religious hatred and fascism in all its manifestations.
- It is also prohibited to send by post all reproductions of a pornographic nature.
- Coins that are legal tender, banknotes, cheques, postage stamps, currency in circulation on the territory of a foreign country, gold, silver or other valuable articles specified in article 25.5 of the Universal Postal Convention.
- Items containing any form of powder.
- NB: The articles below may be admitted in transit with the authorisation of the Ministry of Foreign and Economic Affairs in agreement with the Cabinet.
- Arms, ammunition and military equipment, including apparatus and parts thereof; instruments and their equipment.
- Machine-tools and machines for manufacturing arms, ammunition and flying machines.
- Explosives.
- Strong poisons.
- Articles prohibited as imports into the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Restricted items
- Arms and military equipment, supplementary articles for the production of this type of material, under licences issued by the Ministry of Foreign and Economic Affairs on instructions from the Cabinet of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
- Precious metals, alloys and products made out of them, ores, concentrated products, scrap and waste from precious metals, precious natural stones and products made out of them, waste, powder of precious stones, pearls and amber and products made out of them.
- Medicaments, poisons, narcotics and psychotropic substances.
- Chemical products for the protection of plants.
- Articles prohibited as imports into the Republic of Uzbekistan.
- NB: The items above are admitted as imports under licences issued by the Ministry of Foreign and Economic Affairs on instructions from the Cabinet of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
- Cinematographic films, video recordings and audio recordings may be imported with the authorisation of the Ministry of Culture.

Uzbekistan's plant quarantine service seizes and checks all seeds, even those that have already undergone a quarantine check in the country of origin of the items in question. The dispatch of seeds and other agricultural products to Uzbekistan is allowed only upon authorisation issued by the Head of Quarantine Inspection of the Republic of Uzbekistan – "Ouzbochedavkarantine".
