Universal Postal Union advice
On outward international items, the name of the destination country must always be included:
- On the last line of address.
- In capital letters.
- Preferably in the language of the despatching country or in an internationally recognized language.

Customs duties and taxes
Goods up to £270 require customs label CN22. This form must be signed by the sender and attached to the top left hand corner of the item. The sender’s full name and address must be written on the front of the item. Goods over £270 require customs declaration CN23 + adhesive plastic wallet SP 126.

General Note
Meat, fish, meat and fish products:
Fresh and frozen meat are admitted for import under permit from the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture and a certificate issued by the competent authority in the country of origin attesting that veterinary control was carried out.Meat products, fish and fish products, can be admitted as commercial samples only, under a permit from the Israeli Food Control Administration and based on certificates issued by the competent authority in the country of origin that the food is fit for human consumption.
This restriction does not apply to canned products, see General Note Food Products entry below which applies.

Can be imported with a medical prescription and against a declaration from the recipient.

Cinematographic films can be imported with the approval of the Israeli Interior Ministry Censorship Committee.

• Insecticides.
Insecticides are permitted for import in liquid if they include at least 50% DDT or in powder if they include more than 10% DDT. The accompanying label must show the name of the manufacturer, the quantity of DDT and instructions for use
• Hides and skins, Furs
Hides, skins and furs are permitted for import with a certificate of the veterinary services in the country of origin that the animals were free of disease and under veterinary control, and an authorisation of the veterinary services of the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture.The certificate must show that the items have been disinfected in the manner prescribed by the veterinary services of the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture.
• Wool
Wool and wool products may be imported with a certificate from the veterinary services in the country of origin that the items are free of disease and need the approval of the veterinary services of the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture.
• Other made-up textile articles; sets; worn clothing and worn textile articles; rags
Used clothing for commercial purposes can be imported with the authorisation of the Israeli Ministry of Health.
• Articles of stone, plaster, cement, asbestos, mica or similar materials; ceramic products; glass and glassware
• Glass and glassware
Distillery and parts thereof can be imported under license of the Israeli Ministry of Trade.

The other articles specified in article 25.5 of the Universal Postal Convention may be sent in a closed envelope as registered items only, provided this is permitted by the internal legislation of the country of origin.

Razor blades must be wrapped in closed packages including at least two but no more than ten blades.

Firearms and munitions may be imported only with an import license and a permit to carry firearms.
