• Articles which resemble any coins in current use in the Republic or in any other country and any goods or articles bearing any impression, presentation or design in imitation of any current note, bank note or coin in current use in the Republic or in any other country. False or counterfeit currency notes resembling or apparently intended to resemble or to pass for any currency notes for the time being current in the Republic, or for the currency notes of any other State. Counterfeit stamps, and dies, plates and instruments for making such stamps.
• Natural or cultured pearls, precious or semi-precious stones, precious metals, metals clad with precious metal and articles thereof; imitation jewellery; coin
• Articles, trinkets or ornaments which resemble any coins in current use in the Republic, or in any other country and any goods or articles bearing an impression, presentation or design in imitation of any coin in current use in the Republic or in any other country.
• False or counterfeit coin resembling or apparently intended to resemble or to pass for any coin for the time being current in the Republic, or for the coin of any other State.
• Base metals and articles of base metal
• Tools, implements, cutlery, spoons and forks, of base metal; parts thereof of base metal

– submission of a hygiene or health certificate, issued by the competent authority of the country of origin.

• Fish and crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates

Fish, live or not fresh, chilled or frozen. Importation can be effected only under the terms set out at b, c and d in the General note above.

• Smoked trout.
• Dairy produce; birds' eggs; natural honey; edible products of animal origin, not elsewhere specified or included. Milk and cream other than food preparations with a basis of milk specially prepared as food for babies, all in airtight containers for retail sale. Butter, cheese, birds' eggs and egg yolks, fresh, dried or otherwise preserved, sweetened or not. Their importation can be effected only under the terms set out at b, c and d in the General note above.
• Natural honey.
• Products of animal origin, not elsewhere specified or included
• Guts, bladders and stomachs of animals. Their importation can be effected only under the authority of an import licence.
• Animal products not elsewhere specified or included; dead animals, or fish and crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates, unfit for human consumption. Their importation can be effected only under the authority of an import licence.
• Vegetable products

General note
The importation of the products of this kind (for example dried beans and dried peas, seed potatoes, raw vegetables, mushrooms) is subject to the conditions formulated by the Ministry of Agriculture and is restricted unless accompanied by an international Phytosanitary Certificate. On their importation the products under reference must be examined by an official of the Ministry of Agriculture (Phytopathology Department).

• Live trees and other plants; bulbs, roots and the like; cut flowers and ornamental foliage
• All plants, parts of plants' trees, bushes, flower bulbs and cut flowers. See Vegetable products General note above.
• Edible vegetables and certain roots and tubers. See Vegetable products General note above.
• Edible fruit and nuts; peel of citrus fruit or melons

All products of this kind are subject on importation to import licensing regulations and also to hygiene and health inspection. They must also be accompanied by an International Phytosanitary Certificate.

• Coffee, tea, maté and spices

Coffee, whether or not roasted or freed of caffeine; coffee substitutes containing coffee in any proportion. Coffee musks and skins. The importation of these goods is subject to import licensing regulations. In addition to the above, coffee (when imported in large amounts) must originate in countries which are members of the International Coffee Organisations and be accompanied, to that effect, by a relevant certificate.

• Cereals
• Wheat and meslin (mixed wheat and rye). Rye. Barley. Oats. Maize. Grain sorghum. Buckwheat, millet, canary seed; other cereals.

The importation of these goods is subject to import licensing regulations.

• Products of the milling industry; malt; starches; inulin; wheat gluten
• Cereal flours, cereal groats and cereal meal, flour of leguminous vegetable or of fruit, flour, meal and flakes of potato; malt.

Their importation is subject to import licensing regulations issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

• Oil seeds and oleaginous fruits; miscellaneous grains, seeds and fruit; industrial or medicinal plants; straw and fodder
• Groundnuts, sesame seed, Lucerne seed. Their importation can be effected only under the authority of an import licence issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and, additionally, See Vegetable products General note above.
• Locust beans, fresh or dried, whether or not kibbled or ground but not further prepared, fruit kernels and other vegetable products of a kind used primarily for human food. Their importation can be effected only under the authority of an import licence issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and, additionally, See Vegetable products General note above.
• Cereal straw and husks; hay, all kinds of clover, lupines, forage kale, vetches and similar forage products. Their importation can be effected only under the authority of an import licence issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and, additionally, See Vegetable products General note above.
• Narcotics

Dangerous drugs, including inter alia the following, are absolutely prohibited unless imported under licence issued by the Ministry of Health:
a prepared opium;
b other drugs; including raw opium, coca leaves; poppy straw; cannabis resin and all preparations of which cannabis resin forms the base.
As a general rule Dangerous Drugs can be imported by authorized persons for pharmaceutical purposes and must ALWAYS be accompanied by a permit which is issued by the appropriate authority in the exporting country (and is included in the package containing the drugs) and also by a permit isued by the Cyprus Ministry of Health.

• Glass-working machines, machines for assembling electric filament and discharge lamps and electronic and similar tubes and valves. **
• Moulding boxes for metal foundry. Moulds of a type used for metal, for metallic carbides, for glass, for mineral materials, for rubber or for artificial plastic materials.
• Pressure regulating or reducing valves for "gas clocks". **
• Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers; television image and sound recorders and reproducers and parts and accessories of such articles

All entries in this section marked ## are subject to import licensing regulations issued by the Cyprus Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and a licence issued by the Cyprus Ministry of Interior is also required.

• Electric motors, generators, converters (rotary or static), transformers, rectifier and rectifying apparatus; inductors. ##

i The following articles are absolutely prohibited:
a firecrackers;
b any weapon (including daggers of whatever description, designed for the discharge of any noxious liquid, gas or other thing, or any ammunition containing or designed or adapted to contain any such noxious thing;
c air guns, air pistols and air rifles of a calibre exceeding 0.177 inches (0.45 cm);
d rifles and repeating firearms;
e shotguns (automatic; semi-automatic; repeating; automatic and repeating; semi-automatic and repeating)
ii Ammunitions and explosives and firearms the importation of which is not absolutely prohibited (as above) are subject to import licence

• Firearms of all descriptions (excluding harpoon throwing guns) and parts thereof; all kinds of ammunition and parts thereof.

Articles which are not absolutely prohibited are subject to import licensing regulations issued by the Cyprus Ministry of Commerce and Industry and also to special permit issued by the Cyprus Ministry of Interior.

• Furniture, bedding, mattresses, mattress supports, cushions and similar stuffed furnishings; lamps and lighting fittings not elsewhere specified or included; illuminated signs, illuminated name-plates and the like; prefabricated buildings.

Goods may be accepted as antiques of an age exceeding 100 years (and thus classified under Customs Tariff Heading 97.06) if they are accompanied by a documentary evidence to that effect from a Government competent authority from the country of origin or from the Cyprus Department of the Antiquities.
